British Virgin Islands; 4 December, 2023—Digital privacy and security leader ExpressVPN today announced the launch of its new native app for Apple TV and improvements to its existing Android TV app—making it easier than ever for users to enjoy their favorite content, regardless of the device.
Key features of the new Apple TV app and updated Android TV app include:
- A more seamless sign-in experience: Users can now log in to their ExpressVPN account simply by using their phone to scan a QR code on their TV screen. This is similar to the WhatsApp Web login experience that many might be familiar with.
- Dark mode: A dark-themed UI is easier on the eyes, requires less power to display, and better matches the experience of a streaming device.
- Change server locations more easily: Users can now make use of an all-new, much more visual design that’s made for TV, so they can quickly find the server location they’re looking for and get connected in seconds. Users can pick from any of ExpressVPN’s servers in 105 countries.
“ExpressVPN already had the most extensive platform coverage in the industry, and the latest Apple TV app only adds to our long list of supported devices. Coupled with the latest improvements we’ve made to our Android TV app, we are delighted to provide our users with the best entertainment support—no matter the device they have at home,” said Samuel Bultez, head of product, ExpressVPN.
A VPN encrypts users’ internet traffic, so that third parties like internet service providers can’t see what users are doing online or throttle their internet speeds. It also changes users’ IP addresses, allowing them to appear to be in a different country while increasing their privacy by hiding their real location.
The new ExpressVPN app for Apple TV and improved app for Android TV are available in the App Store and Google Play Store respectively, starting from today. For more information, please visit the ExpressVPN blog.
